Anemurium Excavation Support Program

As Yücelen Education, Culture and Health Foundation, we are proud to support an important project with our vision of transferring the ancient cultural heritage of Anatolia to future generations. In 2021, we sponsored the scientific excavations of this unique ancient city with the “Joint Service Protocol for Supporting Scientific Excavations of Anemurium Ancient City” signed with the participation of Yücelen Foundation Board Chairman Dr. Ali Yücelen and Anemurium Excavation Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tekocak.

Within the scope of this cooperation:

  • Archaeological Excavations and Research Studies: All subsistence and transportation expenses of the excavation team are covered by our Foundation.
  • Protection of Cultural Assets and Inventory Studies: Survey, restitution, restoration and landscaping projects for movable and immovable cultural assets are prepared and implemented.
  • Technical and Logistics Support: Activities such as repairs of the excavation house, supply of necessary materials, creation of scientific publications and databases are supported.
  • Scientific Collaboration and Education: The needs for the education of students taking part in excavations are met and contribution is made to the realization of scientific publications and activities.

The Ancient City of Anemurium is a unique heritage reflecting the cultural richness of Anatolia with its thousands of years of history. This valuable area, which was included in the "12-Month Excavation Project" in 2018, contributes to the cultural development of Turkey with its uninterrupted excavation and restoration works.

As the Yücelen Foundation, we fulfill our responsibility for the unearthing and preservation of the ancient city and continue to shed light on history and science. With these efforts, we aim to carry the traces of the past into the future and introduce the cultural richness of our country to the whole world.
